Foreword
GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) is a regional organization which consists of the national standardization bodies of GCC member states. One of GSO main functions is to issue gulf standards and technical regulations through specialized technical committees.

in its meeting number (26) held
on 14/08/1423 H,
which corresponds to 21/10/2002, has approved
the translation of
Gulf
Standard
GSO 1310:2002
titled "Glucose syrup." in
English
language
which was studied
through
the technical program of
GSO Technical Committee for Food and Agricultural Products
(TC05)
.
(Arabic) text is considered the official text in case of any conflicts between the two.

1 SCOPE AND FIELD OF APPLICATION
This standard is concerned with glucose syrup, used in food industries.

3 DEFINITIONS
3.1
Glucose syrup:
It is essentially a concentrated aqueous solution of dextrose (d-glucose) together with maltose and dextrine obtained by the partial hydrolysis of starch.
3.2
Dextrose equivalent:
Reducing sugars expressed as d-glucose.
