IDENTIFICATION LABEL FOR TEXTILE
PRODUCTS
1SCOPE AND FIELD OF APPLICATION
This Gulf standard is concerned with the general requirements that shall be fulfilled in the identification label for textile products such as yarns, ropes, fabrics, textile floor-coverings, household textiles, ready-made garments, netting and medical textiles, and others.

3DEFINITIONS
3.1
A label which bears the care instructions given for the article to which it is attached and which will remain legible and attached to the article throughout the useful life thereof.
3.2
All Wool/All New Wool or Virgin Wool:
This definition means that 100% of the fibre contents are from the wool which was not used before in any other fabric or textile product.
3.3
Any animal skin or part of it with hair, fur or furry fibres on it, whether raw or manufactured; but doesn't include tanned skins or those skins from which hair, fur or its furry fibres have been completely removed during processing.
3.4
Pure Silk (Pure Dyed Silk):
Silk that does not contain any weighting material or any of such material except those which constitute an essential part for different manufacturing processes.
3.5
A fabric which has no textile fibres except for silk regardless of the amount of weighting.
3.6
Fibres formed from a metal, a metal plated with plastic, metallized plastic, or a completely metallized core.
3.7
A fabric made from metallic yarns such as steel, nickel-chrome alloys, platinum, titanium, copper, aluminium, beryllium and tungsten.
3.8
Under the ready-made apparel section, many products that may be completely made from textile materials (100%) or from textile and non-textile materials (such as skins and artificial leather) are included. These products are used by men, women, children, boys and girls. Examples of these products are thobes, dresses, ghautra, yashmagh, okal, abaya, meshlah, overcoats, jackets, blouses, loose shirts, knitted garments, skirts, trousers (long and short), underwear, bathing dresses, socks, scarfs, headwear, handkerchiefs, etc.
3.9
Household Textile Products
Household textile products include bed linen, bed spreads, table linen, bath towels, blankets, and ready made curtains, etc.

These products include cotton-wool lint, cotton-gauze bandage, eye-pad, etc.
